What ShowTheProject is

A matching service. We pass a homeowner’s video and details to up to 3 independent contractors, who quote directly. We are not a contractor, not a party to any work agreement, and we do not handle payment for jobs in this phase. Hiring decisions and payment are between the homeowner and the contractor.

Homeowners

• You must be an adult with the right to arrange work at the address. Film only your own property and nobody who has not agreed to be filmed.
• You give us permission to show your video and details to the matched contractors and to transcribe the audio, as described on the privacy page.
• Quotes are estimates based on what the video shows. Confirm scope and price with the contractor before work starts.
• We check licenses against public registers but do not guarantee any contractor’s work, insurance, or conduct. Use normal care.

Contractors

• You must hold the license required for the work in New York City and carry insurance, and tell us if either lapses.
• Quote or pass within 24 hours of receiving a post. Repeatedly ignoring posts can end your membership.
• If the job on site differs from the video, tell the homeowner before doing or charging for extra work.
• Videos and details are for quoting that job only. Do not copy, share, or reuse them.
• The founding offer: free for 90 days from opening day, then $49 a month, locked while you remain a member; card on file by day 60; cancel any time before the first charge and you owe nothing. We may end a membership for conduct that harms homeowners or other members.

Liability

We provide the service as is. To the extent the law allows, ShowTheProject is not liable for the work, quotes, or conduct of contractors, or for losses arising from a job. Nothing here limits rights you have under New York consumer law.

Changes

We will date changes on this page and email members about anything that affects price or data.
